Only 8 working days remain until the EAA comes into force on 28 June 2025. Businesses trading with or serving EU customers are legally required to meet strict accessibility standards, yet awareness remains critically low.
Earlier this week, I attended a UK Parliament Business and Trade Committee roundtable. Not one business present had received any formal information about this legislation. This situation is being repeated across the country.
The risk for businesses is significant: GDPR-level financial penalties, cancelled contracts, lost EU business, legal exposure, and long-term reputational damage.
There is still time to act, but not much. Accessibility compliance requires proper accessibility audits, WCAG conformance testing, and expert remediation, not software shortcuts.
